mame button mapping issue
« on: October 30, 2014, 07:34:27 pm »
guys,

I hope you can help.
I have a hyerspin front end and then use mame .

My problem started where pressing the p1 fire button would reset the rom.  I made a video here
Somehow I resolved this issue but now the on screen volume button shows and it also fires at the same time.  I made a video here
I noticed the "on screen display" was set to use CTRL which is also the same key as FIRE.  I changed that to NONE but now its back to resetting the rom.
Any ideas ?

Use mame independently and see if the problem persists. This will let us know if it's a mame or hyperspin issue.

thanks for the fast response.  I played around with the key mapping some more and I seemed to have resolved it.  Not sure how it started to begin with.
Problem was only present in mame.  Is there a good guide somewhere on how to add a new roms to mame using the hyperspin front end .
thanks again

I use Don's Hyperspin Tools to "add" roms to my Hyperspin setup.  http://honerbrink.com/?page_id=14

Mame and hyperspin are two different things... Anyways, I'm glad you resolved your issue.
