help with ntsc tv modelines....

hi. im using advancemame linux and i would like to ask if anyone knows what i should put under device_video_modeline and device_video_format options. I'm using a geforce 2 mx400 with tv out.
i really dont know much about these video settings and so far ive been getting just a unstable blue screen. my tv is :
ntsc tv(japan sony)
tv out nvidia geforce2 mx400
suggestions/comments about whether how to do it properly or there are problems with linux are most appreciated because it might be that it cannot be done.
