Auction Results from Dec 6 superauctions in San Jose
« on: December 12, 2003, 11:45:56 am »
I went with Tbombaci - he helped me take down these numbers. We missed a few, and didn't take notes during the 50+ junk cabs...those went for between $1 and $5 each. Also met a couple of other guys from the boards - fun times!

The carnies that run the SuperAuctions are wild...and crooks too. I stood up on a chair in the back during the pin auctions, and watched the guy get fake bids and cause ppl to bid against themselves.

Also he'd start really high, then work the price down, then bring it back up like there was people bidding. After a few minutes he'd say "who'll gimme $50?" - after he just worked it up to $400 in $50 increments...you gotta watch those guys...

At any rate, I think the auction was good. Most of the prices seemed decent...though there were the occasional bid wars (like the 2 player Neo Geo for $775!)

First the vids, then the pins:

Thanks!

BTW, anyone know what that Contra went for at the end? My brother in law was hot for that but we bailed early.

Hah, I wanted to get that too...the bidding started at like $200...then went down to $25 and about 8 people bid on it. I think it went for $150-175. The monitor was in excellent shape...but there was water under the CP plexi...it must have been out in the rain...

I didn't see you post the price of that pop rock whatever-the-name-was cabinet that had all those large buttons on the control panel you hit in time with the music (remember that insane video that was posted here before..).  It was near the end of the line after house of the dead, and other large cabs.  Do you know how much that went for?  Looked pretty fun (at least in the video  ;D).

You also left out the home-made dragon's lair cocktail (dvd player) that went for something like $750!

Dave_K - I didn't catch the price on that pop rock cab...I was still pumped about getting PinBot ;)

Sorry - forgot to add the Dragon's Lair (725) and the Arkanoid cocktails (225). I mentioned it on my site.

Yeah, krakboi picked that one up :)

Wow, that should complete krakboi's collection of dance games, he already has the rest of them.  ;D
