Is there a Win7 USB Driver for Star Wars Yoke USB Adapter (Ram Controls)?

Hello,

I am attempting to use the Ram Controls Star Wars Yoke USB Adapter on a Win7 64bit PC.   When I plug in the USB cable it recognizes it as only a generic USB device, and not a USB Yoke device.  There are no settings and it obviously doesn't work with MAME.  Has anyone had success using the SW yoke and the Ram Controls USB Adapter on Win7?  Thank you for any help.

It should be showing up as a HID Gamepad -- No special drivers needed.

Start -- Devices and Printers -- Right click on the controller -- Game controller settings -- Properties should get you to the testing window.

One thing about the RAM SCAM Controls interface is that the firmware has the buttons in an odd order IIRC.

You may need to remap controls in ESB to have lasers on triggers and tow cables on the thumb buttons.

Thank you.  Yes you're right it's there under devices and printers as a game controller.  Unfortunately only the buttons work, I'm not getting any axis movement.  I'll have to troubleshoot.  It's a Firefox controller, not sure if that makes a difference.  Thanks again.

Firefox yoke should be the exact same pinout as SW.

The good news is that it probably has a LOT less mileage on it than most SW yokes.   



LMK if you have any questions on how to troubleshoot it.

Thanks for the pinout.  X-axis and Y-axis values don't change at all, and only the buttons work.  Nothing looks out of the ordinary with the adapter board, molex adapter cable or the controller cable.  I guess I'll tear apart the controller next.   I also have a star wars controller in storage that I'll try tomorrow.

I figured it out.  The molex adapter cable that Ram Controls provided was built wrong.  The pins are 180 degrees from where they should be so pins 5 and 6 are not even getting passed to the adapter board. Thanks again for the pinout, every helpful!

I was fortunate enough to locate a really nice Firefox upright, minus the LD player of course.  I'm using a PC and LCD (CRT is dead too).  My goal is to play all the controller dependent games, FF, SW, ESB, ROTJ, STUN Runner and Roadblasters.  I don't want to harm the cabinet or the original components so it will be swappable.  I'm glad I found this forum.  I'll check out the Star Wars thread.
