Hyperspin Rotated for Vertical Monitor
« on: August 18, 2014, 02:55:58 pm »
I'm building a Fix it Felix Jr cabinet and I am having an issue running the FIFJR fullscreen with the windows desktop rotated to a vertical monitor.  Runs perfectly rotated full screen on a horizontal Windows desktop, but not on a vertical windows desktop with no rotation.  Therefore I have to make everything else I planned to run in this cabinet run rotated.

What is the standard way to launch Hyperspin from a Horizontal Windows 7 desktop so it will launch rotated for a vertical monitor?  I thought this would be simple but I haven't found a way to do so.  I can figure out how to get MAME to run rotated just fine I'm sure, but not hyperspin.  If there isn't a way I'll just move to a different FE.

Thanks!

Jeff

Thanks.  those will be cool.  However that's not what I'm worried about right now.  I'm trying to figure out how to rotate Hyperspin when it launches.  I want to keep the desktop horizontal to ensure it works with Fix it Felix.

Hmm... so that's the issue we were running into?

If your video card supports rotation (obviously it does).  I can probably modify the wrapper to rotate the desktop prior to launching the game and rotate it back afterwards.

Howard, that would be fantastic!  Both video cards I tried work flawlessly with rotated Windows desktops except when running FIFJr.  MAME runs great, Hyperspin runs great, but FIFJr unfortunately runs off center.

Thanks for your help with this!  I'm really looking forward to getting this going in my final build.

Hey I wanted to give a quick update.  Howard, I tried your idea of rotating the desktop before and after launch.  I did it using a batch file and iRotate.  Worked GREAT!  Thanks for the idea.  If you ever update the wrapper to do the same thing then I'll launch it directly, but until then this worked for me.  Thanks!
