Powering an Arcade Monitor in a mame cab...

This may be a silly question, but I just wanted to make sure before I go and c*ck something up in my cab.

I know the video input for the arcade monitor I have goes from the monitor, to the signal booster, to vga, to my pc running mame...etc.

But to power the monitor, marquee light and on/off toggle switch, do I just run each item directly into the original power supply in the cab instead of using the jamma harness?

I recently rebuilt a friends cabinet, and moved that wiring to a plug and plugged it straight into a new smart strip.  I left the toggle switch and added an arcade button to the top that runs straight to the PC on/off pins. It was an abortion of a project before I got it, and this cleaned it up quite a bit inside.  I left a build sheet so the next person to work on it knows what was changed. It still functions the same, marquee, monitor, and coin button lights all power up at the same time.

Mmk. That's pretty close to what I am gonna try to do. Only difference is I'm gonna try to make the toggle switch the main power switch.

Would it be easier to make the pc the main thing that kicks everything else on? Or the arcade monitor, marquee & coin lights?
