Rebuild - MAME Versions with High Score Save
« on: August 15, 2014, 10:24:13 am »
Hi all:

I'm going to be redoing my CAB and I have been out of touch with MAME versions - the one I'm using now is MAMEUIFX 64 bit and it supports high score saves. However, this version has its own problems with ROM compatibility such as sound issues - choppy on some titles.

I like this version of MAME because of the GUI interface.

Can someone please shed some insight on what versions I can use that support Hi Score saving and also HLSL capability?

Thanks!

Didn't you build your cab 6 months ago or so?

The most common answer your going to get is to build your own version.  Its pretty straight forward and there is a full tutorial on this site with all the extra diff files and everything you need.  I recommend learning this route if you want to be successful long term with updating versions as it seems you may be doing.  The build lets you do UI as well if I'm not mistaken.

UIFX shouldn't introduce problems like choppy video / sound, chances are you've got something badly configured, or your hardware isn't good enough for what you're trying to run.
