I just jumped on a Samsung 213T Syncmaster 21 (I think it's actually a 21.3 as it looks identical to the 21.3 on other sites like new egg) for $55.13 shipped from Arrow.

I think this has to be my last perches for a while as I now have a bunch of stuff setting at my parents and will have only 30 days total in the US this summer.

P.S.The Code winter20 worked & reddit did not.

That was me. I ordered the last black Samsung 214T last night along with a 19" Eizo monitor for about $66 shipped. WINTER20 worked. REDDIT did not. I had been trying for a week (unsuccessfully) to order both the 213 and 214 monitors.
I'm glad I snagged at least one.

Nice to see they brought back the free shipping as it does make a difference in the overall cost when buying $20 - $30 monitors saving $12 per unit. But inventory does seem a bit scarce right now hopefully more will be added before the free shipping ends ( though I already have more monitors than I need ! - 1 - 17", 2 19", 3 20") Still hoping they'll bring back some of the cheaper Core2duo systems but seems they may have moved to only stocking the CoreI's as the P4's and Core2duos seem to have all gone missing for some time now.

Yea, I have no idea what I'm going to do with the two I got, a 20'' and 21''. I also have a 19'' laying around some where. The good news is I won't get my hands on them till July so plenty of time to plan.

Glad to see you finally got that order in ! (and that it wound up around $66 instead of the $100 so guess the wait was worth it - though Locke141 got in and ordered your 213T off of you during the wait ! )

So, my one wrong monitor is going to be a 20" widescreen build I guess. I was torn anyway because the XBOX is capable of widescreen so if it's a multi-use it'll be better for movies or something. But they did offer a 15% refund since it was the wrong product, so I can buy a soda or something.

They have lots of 3:4 20'' monitors, just not the newer Dell's. But most are still cheep.

Those are still showing up but NOTICE the #available 0 -- which means they are out of stock (looks like they finally got the website to change to 0 Qty but not stop showing the item yet ! ) --- If you do the searchrch for 20" and then sort by QTY they currently have 0 Qty of all 20" monitors (guess we ordered too many during the last sale

) Hopefully they'll get more before the free shipping ends !

There are new dell 20" 4:3 monitors- a bunch of people at the college where i work have them. They are not on lease but surely other companies lease them. So there's hope 3-5 years from now. I'll get a model number.

There is one Dell 2000FP that has composite ( http://arrowdirect.com/dell-ultrasharp-2000fp-20.html ) but it has a pretty big bezel and not sure if the stand is adjustable - so would work if removing from the casing) using "winter20" for 15% discount and Free Shipping makes it about $30.

Seems they have multiple locations and ship from whichever has the product you ordered ( My 2 monitors came from 2 different locations and they charge Sales Tax for Texas so have locations here as well.

It looks like I'm not going to be getting my SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 213T 21.3. It never shipped

I emailed them to ask why I have not received any shipping info and they told me that my order went through but it did not ship yet. They emailed there shipping department and are going to get back to me.

I'll let you all know what happens.

I had that happen to 1 a while back and the thing showed up at my door while it still said processing - Hopefully the same happens to yours and it shows up !

Well, it turned out only part 1 of 2 arrived today. The Samsung Syncmaster 214T. But... It's defective.

At first I thought it was dead, but then I realized that the brightness was WAY low. Adjusting it did nothing. I've already e-mailed customer service. I hope my other 19" monitor doesn't have any issues.

Ouch -- you'd think they would have noticed that (unless maybe the backlight broke in shipping

) at least they have the 60 day return so should get it corrected - They have a 204T in stock that looks to be about the same just a bit slower response rate.

When I was looking for a SYNCMASTER 213T I keep finding replacement parts on ebay.

Edit: I found a guy that had the same problem. It just needed 6 capacitors and the reaper looked easy and was very cheep (2ERO). http://www.nuonsoft.com/blog/2012/03/14/repairing-a-samsung-syncmaster-214t/

Here is a ebay listing for a cap kit for $7.58.

I don't know how good of a deal you got on it or how much you really wanted this particular monitor. But if it was me and my 213T shows up like this, I'd give a repair a go.

If I went this rout I would get the cap kit as well and repair the old one as a back up.

Thanks guys. It's worth a shot for under $10. I've capped CRT arcade monitor chassis before so this should be a breeze. However, I'm going to wait to hear back from them first. I don't want to open it up and then it voids my 60 day return warranty.

If ArrowDirect wants me to ship it back at my expense - Then I'll try it, because it's a beast of a box to ship back and may not be worth it.

Edit: If they offer a partial re-imbursement option, I'll take it and use the money towards the repair. We'll see what happens.

So I heard back and they are offering 3 options: 1) Mail it back and exchange it for the same or equivalent product. 2) Mail it back and get a full refund. 3) Keep the defective product and take an additional 15% off.

I decided to carefully open it up and check the capacitors before deciding. And, as predicted it needs new caps. (Pic below). Three of them are bulging and leaking.

So, I've decided to roll the dice and picked option # 3. I've ordered the cap kit (which is local to me coincidentally so it should arrive quickly). Fingers crossed!
