I don't have either unfortunately, but my Wii U nick is Howard  (yeah I know, real original).  I think the account user name might be HowardC, but I'm not sure.  I don't really know how Nintendo "friend nicks" work because online is kind of a new thing for Nintendo.

Here are the instructions I found on Yahoo to find this:

"I was so confused by this too and it's super easy. When you're in the main menu or "home menu" click on the square orange smiley face in the top row of icons. This is your friends list, once you've gone through the tutorial scroll over or click on your mii character profile. It should show your mii character bouncing around and say online or offline. Look at the top screen and it will show a larger version of this with your name and friend code underneath. You just have to look at the top screen. I got lost in the bottom screen "


You'll see my wife's avatar.  I bought the 3DS for her and somehow when I linked it to my WiiU I was obliterated.  Trust me - no great loss there.

I friend requested some guy named Howard by clicking on the smiley face on the lower left hand corner of the touchscreen controller.

Mario Kart showed up today instead, but I got Tomodachi Life yesterday.

Nothing too exciting on the PS4 just yet.  Tomb Raider is still in the shrink wrap, and I don't think Infamous has multiplayer.  Killzone has been kind of fun, but I'm just doing the campaign.  Have to love all those 2GB "updates to get you ready for more DLC" which are really just DLC packages that sit locked up on your hard drive until you shake $15 loose.

Tomb Raider is still in the shrink wrap,

Just finished that one.  I was very skeptical going in as I'm a huge Tomb Raider fan and the concept of a reboot made me nervous.  But I'll be damned if Crystal Dynamic didn't pull a good one.  I thoroughly enjoyed the game.  Granted, some of the quicktime events were annoying, but aren't all quicktime events annoying?

Yeah.  HDD games work just as well, but if you mean MKart Wii (as in NOT the Wii U version) then nope... they pulled the plug on online play for the whole system a few months ago.

Yeah that was me, apparently you can join any race group a friend is already in. 

You'll get better, you just don't have the right parts atm.  Every time you race your coin total goes up for unlockables (it's EVERY racers coins, not just your own).  Eventually you'll start unlocking kart parts which can increase your speed/handling dramatically.  The "shoe" Kart I was in along with the spoked wheels seems to be particularly fast.

Is there a way to hold an item behind you and pick up another one?  Surely Nintendo didn't take this aspect out....

Yeah just like usual, hold the fire button.  You can fire them backwards like always as well.

No, just like usual was you could hold one item and pick up a second one.  You wouldn't use the first one until you let go of the fire button.

  I didn't know this either. Wii was pretty much the only system I played online, and I Mario Kart'ed with my brother online regularly. I pack the Wii away to move, and this ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- happens before I can get the thing back out of the box.

I think this is the final straw. Unless I can bootleg the game, I'm done with Nintendo. If they can't support a system beyond 1 year of releasing their new console, then it is not worth investing my money in.

Nintendo is doing everything they can to hustle Wii-Us, and that includes plugging the plug on their best selling console.  C'mon, Mario Kart 8 was $45 out the door with a free game.  What more do you want?!

Well Microsoft pulls the plug on the 360 soon as well and it's actually only been a year for them.  Two years for the Wii U, which is more than reasonable.  The main reason they pulled it is a lot of their stuff in the US was hosted via gamespy and as you know, they went out of business.  Remember, the online service on the Wii was 100% free.

I'll also remind you that the Wii is nearly 10 years old.

Really? I remember both microsoft and sony promised to support their systems at least until 2016.  I don't have a dog in the fight on the xbox thing, but I used the PS3 and that is free as well.

And the system is only 7 1/2 years old...A few of the games I played are only 3 years from release date as well. Poorly made mmorpg's usually last longer than that.

MS pretty much drops any real support for anything as soon as NEW shows up, unless its business related. But they both have killed alot of online play in the last few years, player counts are really all that govern it.  You only have 100 people or less playing something that requires a server and there is no chance of making money (add on packs etc) you can understand them shutting it off. Most sports games.. cant expect Madden 07 to be going when 14 is current.  BUT, stuff like MAG, where it was online only (no single player) and no MAG II  seem a bit harsh. I never did play it much after the player base dwindled so i don't know how bad (few)  it was in the end.

If you ever get a STEAM thread going and want some Co_Op  (badlands, l4D, etc.. ) please hit me up "Wabbit gone bad"   or some WOT platoons..  pretty sure Im "clok1966" on both consoles, but haven't had the 360, one, Ps3 or Ps4 on in ages.. Since i got a Ouya my XBMC needs are met.

Totally worth it, but I only played through Diablo 3 once on PS3 during couch multiplayer.

$65 is a stretch but it's definitely better on PS4.  One of my friends couldn't stand it and showed up after work.

I've since sold the 360 version of Diablo, so I wasn't able to do the transfer of characters to the new PS4 version.  So I have to start all over again.  Oh well..it's a fun game.  Really smooth.
