Removing clock capacitor on softmodded XBOX???
« on: June 30, 2014, 07:43:30 pm »
So I read Danny_Galaga's guide for the removal of the clock capacitor but I also read somewhere that the removal of this cap could trigger an error. My xbox is a v1.0 running UnleashX (recently updated with Hexen's cd) and booting directly into Visionary lite 3. If I remove the clock cap, would this affect in any way the boot up process of the xbox or would it display a "clock loop" error? Could the clock be hard set in a softmod?

Hello Ark!! Just wanted to comment on this, I recently removed the clock capacitor and my xbox is still working great and booting into visionary 3. It looks like it was starting to leak. Whew, guess I got lucky.

You could replace the cap.  Make sure you clean up with Isopropyl Alcohol‎ if it was indeed leaking.
