Router Collet Advice

I've just brought a 2nd hand router to add t-molding to my cab, its my first router i've brought or used. I've brought a 2mm slot cutter and an 8mm shaft but the shaft doesn't fit the router. The collet is too small for the shaft so can someone point me to the a collet that will fit as i'm not great with sizes and really need help . Router and shaft specs below.

Typically router bits come in 8mm, 1/4in and 1/2in shaft sizes in the US anyways.  You can get reducers to be able to use smaller shafts in larger collets but not the other way around.   It might be cheaper for you to just buy a new 1/4in shaft for the slot cutter than new collets for the router.

There are two types of routers. In the Netherlands the shafts are 6 and 8 mm, in the US and UK they are 1/4 inch (and maybe other sizes but all based on inches). In short: it will never fit. Probably buuying a 1/4" shaft will not solve your problem as the slot cutter will not fit on it. So buy a (second hand) router from Marktplaats (I assume you are Dutch based on arcadewinkel.nl).
