I have Windows xp, arcadeVGA 5000, groovymame 153b, 15hz arcade monitor ... groovymame is not loading, I even tried to load groovymame in my i7 win7 gaming laptop, and I still cannot get it to run any games, or load a menu by clicking on the exe

I have downloaded the full mame build and the recent groovymame 153b and then replaced the mame exe with the groovymame exe

I created the mame.ini to config the settings to work with ddraw, switchres 1

Not sure what to do now, been working on getting this setup for 4 days, doesnt seem like anyone else is having this issue.

everyone, remember that when using a jpac with an arcade vga, please plug in the usb to pst cable for the jpac, it will help your sync issues tremendously

Yes... it needs to get power from somewhere ;)
That would be why the instructions say to plug it in....

Hi SORHP,

Just in case, remind the specific AVGA settings:

lock_system_modes    0
refresh_dont_care      1

Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Hello Calamity,

Thanks a lot for spending so much time and effort in the video rendering. I appreciate so much what you have done and can say that I am impressed by the final result when comparing groovy/switchres 15kHz output with real jamma PCB.

Nevertheless, during the fine-tuning of all the parameters I did not saw any difference when I played with the lock_system_modes/refresh_dont_care with an arcadevga or oem ATI card under Linux. I assume these parameters are useful only for Windows versions. Am I right?

Exactly. Under Linux the ArcadeVGA is used just like a normal ATI card, so you have full flexibility to create new resolutions/refresh rates already.
