Weird, my reply from a couple of days ago, seems to have never made it..
At any rate, I'm sure they'll work just fine. I don't know if there are similar straight bits with a different name. But, I have a version like the ones you posted as well slightly different ones. The ones like you posted have the bottom cutting-edge (?) with a space in between. So, I found it a pain to use with my plunge router if I needed to start in the middle of the material, not on the edge. If I was starting dado from the edge, then they work just fine. I don't know if there is a special name for those types of straight bits, but now I know to look for something slight different if I need to start with a plunge. Or maybe it's all in my head..
