side art template?
« on: May 15, 2014, 09:12:59 pm »
Well my arcade is built and running good but one thing I'm missing is side art. I designed my own CP artwork and marquee, but I really don't know how to create a template for my sideart since the cab has many curves and different dimensions.

Gonna to have to measure the max height and width of your cab and make the template that size in whatever application your working in to create the side art, 300 dpi or higher depending on what your printer wants. Adding a little extra for bleed if the printer you are going to use requires it for custom work.

As for the curves, I'd suggest just getting the measurements as close as possible, and make sure that nothing important like text, logos or specific characters/items you want seen are close to those particular edges. I'm not good with measuring that kind thing so I'd come as close as possible and just leave some room for fudging.  8)

^^This - or if you can get a good straight on shot of the side with a camera and then adjust to the size of the cabinet measurements in whatever program you are using so that the spots you took the measurements on are in the correct dimensions so that the rest of the side should also be correct size (Just need to make sure it is a straight on shot or you will need to adjust the perspective also)
