Picked up a fully working Rampage about 6 months ago. Man, this thing was rusted beyond belief. First thing to work on was the control panel. Started by dismantling it and sanding it down as best as I could to remove the rust/corrosion. This is the best I could do without removing a whole thickness layer of the metal. After that was done, I powdercoated it and installed all new sticks and buttons. I am currently waiting to receive a new CPO and side art from Rich at ThisOldGame.com....

The bezel was completely faded and peeling off in some places. Since good condition/NOS replacements are next to impossible to find (at least for me), I decided to use a decal on top of the original bezel glass. I found a very high-res scan of the original bezel all cleaned up and ready to go, but it needed corrections for all the dimensions. That was above my ability so I took the scan to my local digital photo lab to accomplish for me.
Using my factory bezel to get dimensions from, they were successful at sizing everything up correctly and printed one out for me on adhesive, laminated vinyl. Here is how it turned out.
Before...

After...(minus some trimming that still needs to be done...

The machine sat for 3 months after doing everything you saw above because I was waiting for a new CPO. Prior to right now, there were NO sources for replacement CPOs for Rampage. A few months ago, a forum member over at KLOV acquired a NOS CPO and was able to scan it, clean it up and make it available for the community. There are still some tweaks to do before it's released, but it's on the way. Based on that news, since that was all I was waiting for really finish this restoration up, I FINALLY got around to working on the cabinet. Rich at ThisOldGame.com messaged me and told me my side art and CPO would be shipping soon which lit a fire under my butt to get going with this. Today I knocked out completely stripping the cabinet, painting it, disassembling the coin door, cleaning it, reassembling it, monitor wipe down, new t-molding install, repainting the marquee retainer, repainting the speaker grille, cleaning the whole inside of the cabinet, cleaned the marquee (the back side was filthy) and installed some temporary CPO items while I'm waiting on the new complete CPO from Rich. That's all that's left besides the side art and this will be done. Stripping the old art off the cabinet was NOT something I would wish on my worst enemy. That stuff was stuck on there and stubborn as hell. A few blisters later, I'm no worse for wear.
Opinions welcome and stay tuned for the side art/CPO install!...
