LCD screens
« on: April 30, 2014, 12:04:01 pm »
I am building a MAME bartop soon, and will be using a 17" Dell monitor in vertical position.  I've only ever used old tvs in the past for MAME use. The bartop will only have 4-way games.

What should I expect for image quality?  would buying the mini SLG (scabline generator) make a big difference?  I will be using an older Radeon video card (VGA)

I don't know, I inherited an acer 24" lcd from an office that had it on all day, every day.  It is definitely dimmer than the dell 1901fp next to it.

Malenko, So other than the scanline generator, nothing else special is going on?  No Groovymame, Soft KHz or Powerstrip?

by the way, that bartop is ---smurfing--- awesome!
