Killer Instinct control issue
« on: April 28, 2014, 11:27:16 am »
On my KI cab I am now experiencing intermittent control issues, ill loose all stick and button functionality for however long it decides then it will return to normal. Now its varied in time and effect (IE some buttons work, other don't) and when I unplug one of the connectors and then plug it back in (while its happening) it returns functionality again till it decides to stop working.

I have no idea what I should be looking for, any help would be appreciated.

you have both a KI1 and KI2 cab? (judging by your avatar)  swap the boards, see if the issue persists in the other cab, if it does, its a board issue. if it doesnt, its wiring.  My best guess is its a break in your ground loop wiring.

Was pretty wiped out last night after work so I didn't swap out however I did re-seat all the connections, clean them and make sure all the grounds were nice and tight (one wasn't). I then played it for about an hour with no issues, if it pops up again ill make sure to swap out and see if it follows it.

Sounds like a classic "ground" issue. Probably had some corrosion or bad connection for your CP gounds.
Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)
