I saw the ads, but never looked to much at it... But the recent sale on them + my tax return ended up with me picking one up at Fry's...
Anyone mess with these? I thought it might be an interesting toy that I may or may not return, but have since been duly impressed. I've put a few android games on it, but when I really started to enjoy it was putting SNES9x and Mame4Droid Reloaded on it... Been able to play my favorite SNES and arcade games on the go has been great. What really impressed me though was the PC streaming... I did it on the LAN and played things suck as Arkham Origins and thought it was pretty neat, but they have recently added experimental internet streaming to it, and WOW. I was at work the other night connected to their moderately weak public WiFi, and I was able to stream across the 'net and play Arkham Origins. I was expecting somewhat of a slideshow to be honest, but it was smooth and playable! I was able to run through several challange maps with Deathstroke and it was damn solid, responsive, and fluid.
Not to mention the mini-HDMI out plus bluetooth, it can be set up as an android microconsole as well. Not to bash the Ouya, but to have all these abilities and have it portable as well?? Ok, well, let me step back... I know the Ouya is considerably cheaper, so there is that... Just seems like the Shield is more powerful, has many more features, and can be used on the go...
