Is there a way?
« on: March 20, 2002, 11:51:47 am »
Is there a way not only to set mame to startup right at windows, hiding taskbar etc, but also give you an option to start windows normally(kinda like a boot menu)  Please if you have any ideas let me know.  thanks!

yes it's very simple... first off you can't just use mame32 or whatever, your gonna need a front-end.... also the front-end has to be able to launch executables....  you simply make add explorer.exe to your gamelist, which is in actuality the windows interface.  Emuwizard and my front-end will do this for you as well ans party on and a few others.

Could someone explain how to do this a little more? Sorry, but am not a Windows expert, and really would like my cabinet to do this when I have it all together.

Thanks!
Brian

You can do this with some simple changes to your autoexec.bat and config.sys files. This works for win95 and 98, I 'm not sure about 2000 and xp.

I will get copies of mine and post them here tomorrow.

Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!
