Problem with ePSXe pad configuration
« on: December 03, 2003, 05:34:05 pm »
Hi group !!

When I config the PSX controller in ePSXe, I assign the ALT key (first player second button in MAME) to one of the pad buttons.
When I play a game in the emu, if I push this button the emu pauses and need to push another time to run again.

How can I solve it ?

I have no problem with this in my setup (Alt set as the square button on player1 controller). I am using ePSXe 1.6. Are you running it windowed or fullscreen? I can repeat your problem by running ePSXe SPU Core 1.5.2 in windowed mode, but in fullscreen there is no problem with Alt on my machine

I have ePSXe 1.6 and run it at fullscreen.
I'm using Mamewah and launch a batch file from it for play the emu.
Can this be the problem?

  • Resistance is... probably a good idea.

Alt keys are a bad idea for a emulators...key combinations can do nasty things. If you can assign something else, you should assign something else. Just my opinion...take it or leave it.  ;D

True, I assign 7,8,9,0 as P1 Button 1,2,3,4 on the JPAC custom (alt) settings to avoid all conflicts.  I configure mame and all other emulators accordingly and have no problems.
