Wireless Audio/Video CP
« on: March 30, 2014, 10:17:35 pm »
hey all, I am sure this is nothing new, but I havent seen it before, so....

I took a 4 player control panel, put a hinged bottom on it, used a pico ASUS mobo, power supply , i-pac, ssd and a wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver. Took less than a day to do as the cp was already done, loaded win 8.1. The A/V streaming is awesome, basically, what I have now is a cp that stores under my entertainment center, then it can be pulled out, sat on the coffee table plugged in and have a full mame setup to play on a 55 inch TV in a couple of minutes at will. Like I said, I know this is nothing mind numbing to the members here, but it is pretty cool...anyway, here it is.

Nice idea using streaming HDMI.  ;D

Does it cause any lag?

If you ever get around to re-doing the CP, consider fixing those angled joysticks.

Looks like a great idea. What is the range of your wireless HDMI?  Thanks.

Looks like a great idea. What is the range of your wireless HDMI?  Thanks.

The specs on the transmitter/receiver say 100' , I personally have not tested it more than about 20'. I will push it back as far as I can to check the range, but I will max out around 30' line of sight, so I can let you know for that distance LOS :) According to the specs, its says walls, ceilings and floors are no problem, so it is NOT line of sight dependent, I will test it out from another room and see what it does. Below is the amazon link to the product, it gives the tech specs:

From the spec summary:        Powerful Long Range Digital Signal
This system can broadcast HDMI audio and video up to 100ft. It also transmits through walls, floors and ceilings with ease. The Aries High Definition Digital Wireless Audio Video Sender will broadcast crystal clear digital sound and razor sharp 1080p video without latency. The powerful digital signal will not interfere with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi networks.

So far I have to say it is a good product, guess time will tell:)

Update : Got Mame and Gamex loaded last night, works great :) Also, it does send signal through walls, was able to control gamex from another room (not that you would want to, but someone asked if it would) Anyway, project is through:)
