Barco TV Monitor inputs ? 9 pin RGBS?
« on: December 03, 2003, 05:45:22 am »
Hi there Folks
I've recently managed to get hold of a large 32" Barco TV.  I'm unsure whether or not It will work with my PC and mame, and whats the best way to connect it to my pc.
At the back its got the following connections, SCART, Svideo, 9pin RGBS?(whatever that is).  Outputting from PC to svideo, produces a terrible picture for mame games, its very blurry.
I tried connecting a standard 15pin monitor cable with a gender changer from 15pin to 9pin for the RGBS connector on the barco but all I get is a rapidly rolling picture, I can make out some colours in Dos and windows when it boots, but cant see anything due to the rapid rolling.  Is there anyway I can utilise this connection ?

I'm in the process of trying to create a 15pin vga to SCART cable, I'll try and mail anything If I have any success. But is this the best way to use the monitor for mame ?, or should I be somehow tapping into the 9 pin RGS ?

Any help would be very very much appreciated.

I'm unsure what model number it is, so if anyone knows a site

You might want to search around, but I am pretty sure an arcadevga card can drive a scart TV perfectly. Try asking andy at ultimarc.com

I've ordered my card yesterday (looking forward to its arrival : ]  )
I'll mail andy as to whether or not it will drive the barco via its 9 pin rgbs.

ArcadeVGA should be able to drive it via SCART in.   From Andy's Site, SCART in essentially turns the TV into an arcade monitor.  TVs are 15Khz, standard res.
