Maps
« on: March 20, 2014, 09:40:38 am »
Does anyone know of a good place to find maps to be printed?
Does anyone know of a website that has poster sized downloads of maps available.  If not poster sized, perhaps vector.
Does anyone know of a website of maps of military conflicts in respective time periods available for download.  If not poster sized, perhaps vector.

What kind of maps? Road Maps, topographical, etc? Current or historic? Any location in particular? US, Zimbabwe, Middle Earth?  8)

A good place to start is the Library of Congress. http://www.loc.gov/

10 seconds there and I already pulled up some good rez civil war and WWII maps.

Glad I could help. Library of Congress is an awesome resource, I am coming to find out. I recently decorated one of the rooms in my house using early 1900 to 1930's photos pulled off of LoC. Stuff like vintage street cars and old timey "moving picture houses", all from local areas nearby in my city. Got the photos printed at a 1 hour photo place, tossed them in some classier frames I got on sale. Room decorated for $40, yet looks like gallery grade photography hanging in my living room.  8)
