Best way to hook up a Sony PVM 20 L1 CRT to modern PC.

Hello!

I have a custom build MAME cabinet we built 10 years ago. Unfortunately my old Trinitron PVM 2010 blew, and I have been unable to repair it.

I recently bought a old Trinitron PVM 20L1 to replace it. I thought at the same time I'd take the opportunity to replace my decade old PC, which is still running the cabinet.

Back in those old, simpler days, my 2002 era video card (a sexy blazingly fast Geforce 2MX) had a composite out, which I had hooked through the Sony PVM and gave reasonably good picture.  (But the display probably could have done better than I had it set to).

My new 20L1 has slightly less inputs than the 2010. (Sadly no direct computer RGB), but it does have SVideo and the analog video inputs that require a little converter plug to use with Composite connections. (Is there a name for these?). I have attached a picture of the inputs.

Now unfortunately my newer, space aged PC (from 2008) has a Geforce 9600GT with DVI, VGA and HDMI outputs.

Is there a ideal way I should be hooking up the newer PC to the CRT, or should I be looking into new hardware?

maybe you could try the little converter plug you mention but otherwise, if you start trying powered video converter boxes to get the signal from your pc to something your monitor can display, you might run into problems as a lot of those boxes are just cheap unbranded chinese stuff, so you might get display lag, sync problems, poor picture, interference, limited resolutions, etc.
im surprised that monitor you have doesnt have more/better connections, especially considering it is a sony. you could buy an expensive converter box, but for the money you could get some different pc hardware instead etc. i used to like composite, but once u go to rgb its hard to go back to it. as for svideo, i dont know how that would look, i havnt tried that. im not sure but with svideo you might be stuck on one screen mode only, eg. 640x480.  same with composite i think. im guessing you dont mind that though as you have used composite before in the past
