  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

The coin sounds are the weirdest part.

DAE think that looks like the Cosmic Key?

Glad to see the Chinese embrace musical instruments for the population, instead of banning them.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

It's interesting, but doesn't sound even remotely close to the NES sound channels.  The coin sound is pretty close but other than that...she doesn't even play the song with all the notes or the correct notes.

I knew using the word "perfect" would bring this response. I got the word from the original article (not the one I linked).

Doesn't sound like the other examples of sheng music in the article.   Still pretty cool, though.

Don't worry about howard, we're counting down until he gives up and sticks his head in the oven.

Ok people who refuse to let things like reality and facts get in the way of bashing me.

Here is the real theme:

Now tell me that sounds exactly the same, or even close.  Go ahead because then I'll schedule you an appointment to get you fitted for a hearing aid.

It was the wrong way to title the video on Kotaku and it's the wrong way to title it here.

I mean if we are going to say that sounds exactly like it or even close then any performance of the tune on a piano, flute, guitar... it's all fair game.

Question Ginsu... if you knew giving it this title would merit such a response then why did you do it?

You guys have problems you really do.  I said it was interesting... what more do you want?

Actually, it does sound close... almost spot on.  Its a different Key.  Musically, its pretty much the same.

The fact that this makes you even remotely upset, and fires you up.. is the reason for the Oven comment.  You dont experience life the same way 90% of the population does.  Every little bump in the road, is like a Giant black hole and or massive boulder.   And so your emotional responses, are equally off the charts.   They go from 1 to 1000, in increments of  500.   Theres very little range and depth..   Your black and white on pretty much everything.

I have a much milder case of this myself..  but when I argue about things... its on a much larger scale.  I dont care if the the key is different in a song.  I dont care if colors are slightly off on a pinball plastics set.  But when they are about 30 shades off on each color..  then it becomes an issue worthy of responding with passion.

So what?  Who cares about someone saying their opinion about a mario tune not being 1000% accurate?  Why even bother to respond?  Do you have have a life at all?   Do you value it?   Because most people would think you didnt, from your extreme reactions to something so trivial and ridiculous.

OCD    - A very hard disease to live with.  A very sad thing to watch people suffer with.

And I have to say... thanks.  That was quite awesome!  :)

LOVE the sounds of that instrument,  and amazing ability to replicate so many of the sounds like that..  incredible.

I have to see if there is a lower tone version...  and maybe some complex compositions on them.

Its almost like a synth crossed with an accordion.  So warm and full.  Like a room-filling choir of sound.

I agree the title wasn't accurate , however the song was. If I didn't know what she was playing by reading the title of the video, I definitely could have recognized it by sound.

Worth reading thread to see X2 call someone else emotional and imply they have no life. Would read again.

We fiercely debate the weirdest things here sometimes....

Anyway, cool video. I always think I'm sick of that leitmotif but there's always a new, interesting take on it.
