Need help with this chassis swap
« on: February 22, 2014, 01:41:27 pm »
I have done a ton of 19" chassis swaps using wei-ya chassis, i tried this swap today and had a bit of an issue, i think i read everything right on the chassis and readings, but it still smoked.  The picture was good for about 5 minutes (nice stable picture) but then it scrambled and i smelled smoke and shut it down.  Below are my photos of my readings, etc.  I bought a wei ya 825 chassis to replace a wells gardner chassis on a 25" monitor.

Did you have it powered correctly through an isolation transformer?

Although if not, I don't think you'd get 5 minutes

Edit: that's a zenith k7000 (built for WG) so it should have already had an ISO transformer.

Shipping something from the U.S. to Canada for repair/exchange?  Please use USPS to avoid (additional?/excessive?) shipping charges.  PM me if you have any questions.

Yes, it was wired correctly, the original chassis was a wg 7000.   I have wired tons of 19 " chassis, not many 25"' wanted to make sure I did not miss anything before I sent it back.

Yes I know
That's what I said.
I was just stating that seeing it is a k7000, it should already have an iso
