I have always wondered why figure skating is an Olympic sport but Pro Wrestling is not.  Seems like the same thing.

The only thing that bores me more than the winter olympics is the summer olympics. Total wastes of time, money, effort all around, and I really don't get what you achieve if you win gold... a wheaties box showing?  (do they even make wheaties any more?)

In other news, mary lou retton now does ads for adult diapers.   Guess the balance beam was pretty hard on the bladder bone afterall.

They do get to make a nice living coaching their sport for the next wave of Olympians plus the kids of wealthy people.

In this case first loser makes an excellent living coaching their sport for the rest of their life.  That medal is the ticket to a very nice sustainable lifelong income.

If you're American, trying moving to the USVI and get on one of their teams.  Went to high school with plenty of people on the 1996 "olympic sailing team" and none of them went on to lucrative coaching careers.
