ENCOM Serial ID Plate
« on: February 15, 2014, 11:06:35 pm »
I've made an ENCOM Id plate template for my cab and have uploaded it for those of you who wants to use it.
There are 3 versions. The only differences are some specs like the voltaje rate: 230 vs 120, hz rate: 50 vs 60 and US vs EU in the model #
There are 3 flavours for each version in order to modify/adjust them to your taste: Adobe PSD, Vectorized EPS, and PNG.
P.S: The serial number field is blank so that you can add your own serial.

And here's the final product:

Laser engraved anodized aluminum plate. (Now I only need to make the screw holes and stamp the serial number)

That's brilliant, Sky and thanks for the share!

What font you using for the entries in the white boxes?

Played around with your design for my own cab, but the font doesn't look right in the boxes:

Fab flourish :)

 :applaud: Love it.

I made a similar plate back in January for my FLYNN's build. Only after did i realize some of the power values were a little "off"  ;D .  I had it echoed locally onto an aluminum plate. its a little oversized, but i like it. I've left little dots in the artwork to help with the pacing of the screws/rivets in the corners.

I was thinking of using old typewriter heads to punch in the serial number.  What did you have in mind?

Yeah, I repeatedly gave Cory a hard time about those numbers, but he left the messed up values on the template.   :banghead:

The correct formula (for anyone wanting to get it right) is Volts * Amps = Watts. (i.e. 120V * 3A = 360W)

I was thinking of using old typewriter heads to punch in the serial number.
Harbor Freight and Amazon have "steel stamp sets" in various sizes.

You could probably clamp the serial plate between a wooden guide (2x4) and a support piece to keep the stamps level and square relative to each other as you align and strike each stamp, one at a time.

I think I'll use a steel stamp set as proposed by PL1 (thanks for the tip).

Yeah, I'm gonna have to hunt one of those down. Probably a lot easier than finding a typewriter. (As bad as that sounds, it's probably true)

Harbor freight has them $19.99 for 3/8" size ( http://www.harborfreight.com/36-piece-38-steel-letternumber-stamping-set-60669.html ) or $12.99 for 1/4" --- ( http://www.harborfreight.com/36-piece-14-steel-letternumber-stamping-set-60671.html )

<---- Canadian

Thanks JD ;)

I'm gonna check locally. I'm bound to find a set here in Calgary. Not a massive deal. But the links will help anyone else who comes across this thread. :)

Ok. I found a set of 3mm number set on Ebay for as low as 8,54 USD or 6,27 Euro, shipping costs included.
They have them available in different sizes. Search for "Hand Metal Marking Stamps" and you'll find them.
