Mamewah Filters in MAME
« on: November 30, 2003, 10:20:07 pm »
OK I have Mamewah working pretty well with Visual Pinball and Daphne. It works great with MAME, but I have a weird problem. I can't figure out how to use Filters to create custom lists. I have my List Generation Methos set to
ROM Folder vs ListInfo (M.A.M.E.)
I have catver.ini setup in the .cfg file.
but when I go into the Games List Options, it doesn't let me Generate Custom List using filters. I see it there in the options, but pressing 1 or enter don't do anything.

What in the heck am I missing? I want to setup filters based on genre controls etc.

Thanks for any help!!!!

Try creating a new list first, it looks like the main list doesn't let you add filters.

You have to point the mamewah emu config file to the catver file.

Like so:

CatVer Filename = G:\EMULATORS\ARCADE\SMOOTHMAME_067_I686\CATVER.INI

I'm pretty sure that I am doing that. I will check it again tonight though. I used the Mamewah configuration application to set the catver. I will look in the actual config file.

Thanks for the response.

Odd ???

You shouldn't have to point to the catver file (MW now assumes it is located in your emulators path).

The other filters (year, manufacturer etc) should show up anyway.  Double check that your List Generation Method is 'ROM Folder vs Listinfo'. and the hit 'Refresh Games List'.  It sounds like for some reason MW doesn't think there is any information to filter on.

Post back what happens...

Well Romfolder vs ListInfo is definitely correct, but it doesn't give me the option to Refresh Game List for some reason.

Is there something that I did to make the refresh disappear?

Thanks,

Cameron

Ahh, sorry, you need to select the Main Games List first, then 'Refresh Games List' should appear under Games List Options.  Once refreshed, select a custom list again and see if the filters are there...

Well that refresh option was not appearing for a bit there and I was tweaking around with some other stuff and suddenly it reappeared. Now I can filter!!! Yipeee

Thanks!
