MEI Cashflow 340 coin mech, can I set to free play?
« on: February 04, 2014, 04:53:46 am »
Hi all,

I have a crane machine that has a MEI Cashflow 340. I want to bypass this and use a credit button or set it to free play as it is going to be used by the kids as a soft toy box.

I have the game manual but there is no freeplay option on the board. The coin mech doesn't just send credit signals but it also manages the credit value, coin inhibit etc. I have the coin mech manual and this has no freeplay either. The best I can do is set it to 1 coin = 1 credit but each time they do this they have to open the door and fetch the coin, not good for kids as there is high voltage there etc.

Does anyone know how I can fake a credit to the board with a button?

Any help is appreciated.
The coin mech pdf is available here:

Gene

u will need to do a test
cut 1 of the lines >a< out =your lowest value
can be opened and the machine side tied to a switch, then the other side of the switch to ground, this should in basic give u free play,as the machine is thinking it is getting its :no-pulse-signal: from the 340,i know :no-pulse-signal: sounds confusing
but once u understand that all cashflow operate on open collecter outputs
it becomes more clearer then mud..
in layman terms the coin signal is tied  at 3.2vdc until a valid coin passes through it
it then pulls low for >xx< mil seconds >pulse<
all the machine see's is this low accpetace, and offers up the credit for that channel
we do this all the time
with no harm done, just rember u are tieing low and not high

Shipping something from the U.S. to Canada for repair/exchange?  Please use USPS to avoid (additional?/excessive?) shipping charges.  PM me if you have any questions.

Worked perfect. I hooked the green cable from coinmech to a switch which grounded when pushed, this tricked the boardinto thinking there was 1 credit. You cant load multiple credits so I hooked this hack up to the start button so when start is pushed the game starts.

Thanks guys
