I still consider go Ninja go to be one of the best rap songs in history.  All rap is silly and commercialized, so at least it doesn't hide it.

Ask anyone and they'll tell you that Ninja Rap was the BEST part of the flim.  The movie gets a little worse each year with age... but the song gets a little better.

That song makes the damn movie.  We all wanted bebop and rocksteady and got toker and razor instead.  Meh.

Me:Hey Malenko, what do you think of the Ninja Rap?
Malenko: It needs to go ninja go ninja go away
Me: Well what about the movie itself?
Malenko: I think it holds up pretty well, much better than the 3rd live action movie.

As you can see, I asked me, and we disagree :)

We all wanted bebop and rocksteady and got toker and razor instead.  Meh.
The movie peeps wanted bebop and rocksteady too, eastman and laird didnt want them in the movie. so we got Toka and Razar (or however the hell you spell their names)

When I first got a DVD player, one of the first purchases was TMNT.  The cashier said, "oh my god, I can't believe you're buying this", and I said, "you're the one selling it."  Hater's gonna hate.

Own all three of them on BluRay now.   ;D

I own all 4 (CGI TMNT as well as the live action ones)   I torture Bonnie once a year with a turtlethon.

Now I'm totally sad (and jealous)....

Up here in Canuck-istan, we don't have "Radio Shack" any more.  Due to stupid legal hassles, we now have "The Source", and its just pure crap.

Oh, how I yearn for those days gone past of a 80s Radio Shack... parts and bits hanging on the wall, and they actually had what you were looking for 90% of the time.  Unlike today, when I walk into The Source and am presented with a tiny little slab of wall no bigger than my refrigerator, and where they never have anything even close to what I'm looking for.

I'm also jealous because I don't even have a reasonably half-assed electronics shop anywhere within a few hours drive from here.  eds1275, you live on Vancouver Island... where do you go shopping when you need electronic bits?

I'm on the island too. There's a place in downtown Victoria that I go to. Name escapes me at the moment. The carry the average stuff for electronics and they can order in the less popular stuff. It's either that or I order through digikey

I must have missed that whole thing.  I remember the comics, the cartoon, and the toys based on the cartoon.  I vaguely remember that the first movie existed.  Don't think I have ever actually heard of this one.  I had no idea of the rest of the sequels.

I'm not sure how.  I was a kid when they cam out.  For the first two at least, the line literally wrapped around the movie theatre 3 times, and this was common throughout the US.

Hrm... March 1991... I was in 10th grade but didn't have cable or anything.  Pretty much just went to school, baseball practice, work, then home to repeat it all over again.  Now I see how I would have missed it.

Yeah while T-U-R-T-L-E Power was pretty awesome, you can't tell me that pop weak-sauce you just posted isn't inferior to Ninja Rap.

Of course the best one probably is:

While I was into the TMNT cartoon I had outgrown much of the hype by the second movie. I had never seen the ninja rap until this moment. And While I like it now...blinded by nostalgia. I would have been pretty meh in 1991.

Like I said... the song keeps getting better with age, the film, not so much.  This is coming from a HUGE turtle fan btw.

It could be worse:

Well considering him and knave missed TMNT II when it was out I'm pretty sure a decent percentage of byoac was living in a cave, hobbit hole, or maximum security penitentiary in the 90's.

I mean seriously guys, these were mega blockbusters of their day.  It would be like not seeing the Avengers today.  I don't even care for the Avengers that much but I've seen it... it's unavoidable at this point.

P.S.  Space Jam was and still is my jam.  :D

No, never saw Addams Family or Space Jam.  I didn't really get to go out in those days.  There was a lot going on in my life that had me going flat out about 16 hours a day and spending the rest trying to catch up on sleep.
