Happy GM new user!

Lots of threads about issues with GM.  But I just wanted to say how happy I am with GM and how it looks on my monitor.

My system is what I call a Mame Cabinet on the cheap.

Cabinet is a NFL Blitz 4 player, removed all the guts, as the joysticks are 48 way.
Converted it to Jamma, installed a jpac.
Monitor is the original, jumpered to 15Khz from 25K
Computer is a old AMD running at 2G with 2G of Ram.
Video card is an Nvidia... :)

After reading the GM forums, I bought a ATI 4350 locally off of Craigslist for $40, installed GM and I love the results!  Looks like an arcade game should!

I do have an issue with tall games, but I'm going to change the 288 to 256 as recommend in other posts.
Can run all the latest games, but the 80's classics play great.

Sounds like you've got a great cab happening there. Sometimes I find the setup more fun than playing the actual games.  ;D

If you're feeling adventurous, you could do what a few have done here, myself included, and wire up an external vertical size potentiometer and place it somewhere convenient so you can adjust the height of each game to fit your screen. That way you can enjoy 288 line games in their original res.

I have moved the monitor adjustments, as it's on a cable and can be relocated.  It's now in the control panel, so I can just lift up the CP and make the adjustment, but if other people are playing I don't want them messing around.

I highly appreciate this. By looking at the forum, on would say this thing hardly works at all!  :D

+1 been using it for 2+ years with an Arcade VGA.  No issues.....other than user error of course.  ;D
