Out with the Nanao and in with the SCART
« on: January 29, 2014, 06:41:27 am »
Hi all,

I got sick of trying to fix a troublesome 29inch NANAO from my SEGA Alien 3 the gun cabinet so I chucked it out and bought a 29inch Loewe TV from the locally paper for $1.
Was pretty simple to connect to jamma, basically I just used a scart connector and wired the existing NANAO RBG, sync and earth to the respective locations on the scart connector, I didn't need to connect a 12v or 5v signal as loewe tvs don't need it, no audio either as the game has its own speakers etc. Installed it in the original SEGA chassis, made a resistance board to lower the colour saturation from the JAMMA as its always to bright for SCART and then installed in the cabinet. I switch the red and blue wires that go to the yoke so the image was reversed for the cabinet as it reflects off a mirror and I put the screen in upside down for that reason also.

Runs sweet, only down side is I have 2 power cords as the loewe is 220v whereas the old NANO was 110v.

The pics don't look that great but in person its mint.
If anyone needs a hand doing this then feel free to ask.
Cheers
