vertical collapse hantarex?
« on: January 28, 2014, 09:32:40 pm »
So picked up this "Tekken 4" cab, lucky me its an MK3 cab, and Ive always wanted an excuse to convert my MKII back to an MKII (from a UMK3) so I started peeling stickers off and decided to take a break and play a little Tekken 4, welp, I guess I should have looked at the monitor better before buying cause theres some sort of collapse. Is there an obvious fix or do I need get a full on cap kit?  On a side note, Super Deformer Tekken looks hilarious.

Of course caps are always a good idea to change and will fix a lot of these kinda things.
also check pin 14 of IC1, should be +20volts.
could be IC1 is bad

didnt have a chance to check the voltages yet, but I did take a closer look at the board after grantspain suggested I adjust this:

(or at least I hope that's the vertical linearity pot)

and then I noticed this:

What is it, and where do I get a new one. I KNEW I shouldnt have bought this machine! In addition to the toasted marshmallow, the board is chipped and the degauss wires are taped off.
Any advice?

Eh, all things are repairable. As far as IC1 goes, the one time I had one with a bad IC1, it was completely collapsed.
