Alright guys, I turn to you to solve this one, since I am stumped!!!

The color and contrast are beautiful. My flash has drowned out most of the color, but as you can see, the left side of the screen is squished together into a single line down the left.

I didn't see any adjustments for horizontal settings.

It is a Nintendo chassis.

That's always the quick answer. I'm told this monitor is a bear to recap.

Is it possible just a single component needs replaced?

I'm just hoping to get it fixed without out replacing 25-50 components.

yes cap kit is in order,the short list comes with 10 caps
but u need a coupler cap in there >size<

It's a Sanyo 20EZ.  They're such pieces of crap to repair I rode along with a guy yesterday to go buy a fully working one instead of repair his old one.

Doubtless there's only one cap that needs replacing but nobody's documented what each one of them does.

Break out the soldering iron.

I'm just going to bite the bullet and do them all. I'm going to skip the flyback on this one, since the picture is already so beautiful and full of color.

Before I order anything, I plan to get the exact numbers off the chassis. That's the last thing I want to do is buy parts from Bob Roberts for the wrong parts.

It doesn't matter to me which one of you is correct on the model number, since I'll be checking it for myself anyways.

the non-polar cap as a rule dose not come in the cap kit
but by all means cap that baby..wont hurt
and well u are under the hood see if u can find the non  polar cap
it will look like a electrolytic cap,but if u look colse it will say by-polar

The point of my question was, if I needed a cap kit or not.

Looks very similar to an issue that had been happening on my 25K5501.  In my case, the vertical size was wrong due to a bad cap, and later an incorrect cap until I found out what kind of animal my chassis really was.  Replacing with a good cap of the correct value sorted it all out.

I'd listen to these guys and perform the recap.  Pay close attention to the vertical circuit and look for cold solder joints while you're at it.

I received my capkit from Bob Roberts.

I'll be recapping it shortly.

In the meantime, I decided to make myself a little tool to make things quite a bit easier on myself.

I drew it up in Excel real quick, laminated it, and glued it to a piece of foamcore. Let the glue dry, then punched holes through it with a paper punch. After that I found an old plastic container to act as a pedestal, and used Velcro to hold it on.

To use it, I just use wet-erase markers, fill in the blanks, and have at it!

I made myself a quick little manual too, from websites, and other tutorials.

Yeah, it always is best to setup your caps like that for easy identification while installing.
Remember to verify and set your B+ voltage when done.
Should be 108 volts.

Also, there may be a regular looking plug end on that monitor but don't plug into a regular outlet.

I will NEVER plug it directly into a wall outlet. I won't do that with ANY monitor.

I didn't really figure you would but its always worth mentioning becauae I have seen others post, asking about that.

Not sure if you found it or not but there is a troubleshooting flow hart for that monitor. It's on klov. I think Buffett may be the one who made it.

Also be careful when adjusting the b+ because the adjustment pot is kinda delicate. I usually change out the pot when working in them. Bob Roberts has them.
