Cocktail-style split screen for Non-Mame games?
« on: January 13, 2014, 11:45:35 am »
Hey folks,

Been searching, but having found anything yet.  Does anyone have a way to make windows or an app act like Mame games in cocktail mode?  There are a bunch of multiplayer PC games I'd love to put on my cocktail MAME cabinet, but this is the main issue.

Not sure but there are programs like Splitview ( http://www.splitview.com/ ) that allow splitting a single monitor into split displays that could probably be used to do this - not sure if any specific one allows rotating of the image so that you could set it up like cocktail mode or cloning the single display to 2 windows but they do have a 30 day trial so you might download and give it a try !

Also if using an Nvidia GPU there is Nvidia Grids which is part of the display drivers that might work - again I'm using ATI so not sure what options for rotating and setting up the grid system are included but might be workable.

Grid seems to be dependent on specialty hardware.  Splitview may work, thanks, checking it out now.  THanks for the link!!!

Alas, doesn't seem to support rotation.

Alas, doesn't seem to support rotation.

Bummer ! Was afraid that might be the case since it seems designed to display 2 things side by side on the monitor. Hopefully someone will come along with some suggestion.
