Who wants to help with the Blaster mini?
« on: November 28, 2003, 06:44:29 am »
Ok, I want to start off by thanking urebelscum for adding 49-way support into his Mame version. That means that Blaster, Sinistar, Pigskin, and Arch Rivals are now properly supported if you have the right sticks.

The one out of those that really interests me is Blaster. I love Blaster, I like it so much that I am going to be making a Blaster mini.

Here is where you can help. I am going to be needing Blaster artwork done up. I AM NOT the best at that sort of thing, I know many of you are way better than I am. So I am asking for help here.

There are VERY FEW Blaster machines out there, so I doubt I am going to be able to get a Blaster owner to scan their control panel for me.

But I did gather a few pictures here to start off.

I will be posting the exact dimensions I need on monday (I need to go home and measure up my Space invaders mini first).

This is the style I want to emulate, that of the wooden cabinet.

Oh, in case you were wondering, yes I already have my 49-way stick (an orange balltop one), and I already have a set of NOS translucent light up buttons.

Great thanks Tom, now I just have to figure out how to print an .ai and I also still need a marquee. Specifically an 18.6x6 one.

The control panel is 18.5x7, so I am unfortunately going to have to lose that entire bottom section of the overlay, hopefully the rest of it will scale properly.

You're welcome!

I can size the file for you. I will make an eps and a PDF for you to take anywhere to print.

What are the exact dimensions?

The control panel is exactly 18.5" x 7" and the marquee is exactly 18.5" x 6".

The only real resizing issues might be making sure the bolt holes and buttons holes are still correctly spaced.
