hi all, i did a pretty crappy job of cutting the hole for the monitor in my cocktail cab and need a way yo cover it up along with part of the monitor... the monitor is 17"... any ideas??

Paint the underside of the glass / plexi top.
I think smaak (maybe spelt wrong) did this and it looked good.

Cardboard, like the kind shoe boxes are made of, cut to the right size and painted black.
If you needed a little more thickness, you could use foam-core board, again painted black.
Look in the school supplies aisle of your neighborhood whatever-mart.
