Question on Nanao MS9 working with a MS8 monitor
« on: December 27, 2013, 01:03:05 am »
Hi guys,
I'm hoping someone might know the answer to this question.  I have an Egret 29 with a Nanao MS8-29FTB.  The chassis died and I was able to acquire a Nanao MS9-29SU.  Does anyone know if the MS9-29SU chassis will work with the MS8 tube?  The tube says it's a Toshiba a68kkn96x.  I'm hoping someone knows...thanks in advance!

the tube is not going to be the problem, the deflection yoke will be.

tubes are usually commonly pinned out the same between tubes...but the yoke is going to be tuned to a specific operating frequency.

both the ms8 and ms9 chassis you listed are both 15k & 25k capable. they could work.

Understood.  Hmm, but it sounds like noone knows for *sure* if it will work.  worst case, will it screw up anything if it's not made for each other?

ms8 and ms9 29" monitors are almost identical on yoke specs-you may get more vertical size but it should adjust out

ms8-26 are completely different

only one thing to add,the vertical yoke connector pins on the ms9-29 are a smaller gauge than the ms8-29

it works fine as I have done it before. Neck cards are not interchangeable between the 2 boards but the tubes are.
