dart star what is this sensor
« on: December 09, 2013, 01:26:42 am »
I cant figure out what this sensor is for.. I think i have it plugged in correctly - its a motion sensor that lights up when a dart hits the board. its clear plastic and mounted to the rear of the upper unit door. but the software isn't doing anything interesting when it happens. I assume its to sense a dart that didnt hit the board? but how do make the software recognize it? I have it plugged into v/sns port on the cpu. the light lights up if I tap the unit. software is 3.25.

this is not the player change motion sensor.. it activates on shock to the board from a dart hitting it physically.

Just the sensor, and I think you're right about it being a missed dart sensor.

if I cant get it working I will PM you :) but if I can get it working I cant take hi-res photos or assist with getting it working.. I assume its just a shock sensor. I live about 10miles from the manufacture I just found out and they are super cool so waiting for a call back to see if I cant get it working correctly.

Nah, man, don't bother.  Just sell it to Nephasth super cheap.

Every time I see this topic in the list I read it as "Death Star" not dart star.  Then I get super disappointed when I realize my error.

That sensor? It's the cell block escape notifier.

Went to medalist today (they are local) talked to them this was a missed dart sensor. But the software isn't using it turns out it was so problematic they didn't use it. So it's there but isn't working

That's too bad. Thanks for the update, though.

I think I remember them sending out a bulletin years ago about unplugging that silly thing because it was so erratic in operation.

Confession: I clicked on to this thread for that very reason.
Also, I was disappointed.
