5/8" MDO Plywood - Where the heck?
« on: December 10, 2013, 09:11:26 pm »
I have been trying for several days to find ANYWHERE that sells 5/8" MDO plywood for my arcade control panel.

By chance does anyone know where this might be purchased and delivered?

Thanks!

Reach out to local Lumber mills.  The big box stores typically don't carry it so you'll need to find a local lumber shop.  Where do you live?

Near Nashville TN (Murfreesboro)

Yes, tried Wal-Mart and Lowes first and realized quickly that I was out of luck......I have called SEVERAL local places and even some not so local places :)

I did find some 15/32' MDO available locally (at 84 Lumber) but I have in my head that I need 5/8" MDO so that I can get 1/8" plexi and theen 3/4' t-molding will fit (don't know if this is really true).

Bottom line, 15/32" is the closest I have come yet

Wal-Mart?  I don't mean to sound rude by why would you think to look at Wal-Mart?

Specialty lumber is gonna be your best bet, call up some cabinet shops and ask advice.

Geez, no idea why I typed that :)  My brain said "Home Depot" and my fingers said Wal-mart for some reason

Great idea on thee cabinet shops, will definitely try that tomorrow.

No, I saw people mentioning Menards in some of my searches but the closest location to be is several hours away

10-4.  Do remember though that if you use Plexi it will be above the T-Molding.  Not end of the world or anything but worth noting.  You can do some cool routing with the Acrylic if you go Lexan but it's quite a bit more expansive than Plexi.
