Mamewah question...newbie
« on: November 24, 2003, 02:44:43 pm »
I followed the newbie guide to Mamewah that stuzza posted .  My problem is I cant get any games to run.  I followed each step very carefully.  I see the ROM game list on the left hand side, the screenshot on the right.  However, when I select a game and press 1... i get a box that pops up saying running rom (or something like that.. cant remember now since Im at work), but no game loads.

Any suggestions?

try launching the game using the command line and see if that works. That is the first thing I do to diagnose. For example..
Open a command prompt go to the mame directory and type in
mame.exe qbert
or something like that

Good luck

look at the debug.log file in the mamewah folder, it'll show the command that mamewah tried to execute and see if it looks fine. If you think it does, copy it into a DOS box and see if it runs fine.

Make sure that you also include the exe file name in the path
in the config file.

ie..   c:\Mame\mame.exe

This had me stumped for a few min myself
