Vector.ini and GroovyMAME
« on: December 02, 2013, 02:20:27 pm »
I have a vector.ini that I use to tweak brightness and vector-specific settings. It seems that it's not being read by GroovyMAME 0.149.

I'll upload it later, but figured I'd ask to see if this is a known issue or perhaps just my mistake in the configuration.

Until I get my Asteroids cocktail restored and working, I need my fix! And the vector games just aren't as pretty as they could be with a bit of tweaking.

Running on a WG U2000 w/ an AVGA 3000, FWIW.

Thanks in advance.

Try putting this as the first line of your vector.ini file and let me know if it works....

Nope. Put it right at the top. No dice. See attached for full .ini.

OK, I just downloaded and unzipped stock mame 0.149
then downloaded GroovyMAME 0.149 and dropped the exe into the folder (renamed to mame.exe).

I created a clean ini file using...   mame - cc

Then I created a file named vector.ini (see attachment, remove .txt from the filename) with ONLY the following contents and it worked as expected on vector games...

#
# CORE SCREEN OPTIONS
#
contrast 2.0
gamma 2.0
#
# CORE VECTOR OPTIONS
#
beam 2.0

Man, I feel like an idiot. I copied the vector.ini into the /ini folder and it worked like a charm. DUH!

Thanks for the help, krick. This one was entirely user error.  :dizzy:

Did you modify your inipath in mame.ini or something?

I put vector.ini right in the root with mame.ini and mame.exe and it works fine here.

In fact, I don't even have a folder called "ini".
