Screen Flicker
« on: November 10, 2013, 01:24:44 am »
Hi all,

I've been scouring the internet looking for a solution, but can't seem to find any info.

I have two computers in this equation. The first is running Windows Vista with a 2.4ghz CPU, 2gb RAM and a 512 ATi graphics card. I used this computer to set up Mame 0.150 and MaLa, and everything is working great using an LG monitor at standard resolution/refresh rates.

The second computer is the one that I'm putting in the cabinet. It's running Windows 7 64-bit, has an AMD processor that I believe to be around 2ghz, 2gb RAM and a 1GB on-board nVidia GeForce graphics card. With this computer I copied my rom folder over to it but obtained the 64-bit version of Mame and a fresh copy of Mala. Did all of my configs and everything, but when the game starts and runs they have a constant flicker that makes them almost unplayable (but possibly seizure-inducing).

If I go and run the games right through Mame there is no flicker, but would really like to be able to run them through the front end. The monitor being used is a Dell LCD monitor. The resolution is turned down to 800x600 and the refresh rate is at 60hz.

Any information is greatly appreciated. I've got all of my buttons, my I-Pac and I'm building my cabinet in the morning and would really like to be able to have everything ready to go.

Thanks!
