Here you could get a small house or a decent sized combo, in a reasonable neighborhood in the 'burbs.

So what I should do is take my money and try and immigrate to the US for a nice cheap place to live? A friend did almost the same thing recently, although he went to Sri Lanka.

Met a British man in California that took his life savings and moved to Santa Barbara. Says it was the best thing he had ever done, like he doubled all of his money and got to live in the warmth.

 :laugh2:

So either Sri Lanka or California, you say? Probably easier to get a job in Sri Lanka...

Apparently Sacramento, CA is a major hub in underage sex slave trafficking. However I'm quite mystified as to why top news stories typically consist of the Sacramento Kings and/or the occasional murder. So I'm not exactly sure what entails "major". I guess the very laws that serve to protect children also squelch the bulk of any public awareness of it.

Sri Lanka it is!

It's not trafficking laws that squelch talk.  It'sdefamationlaws.  No news outlets go near anything like that until after a conviction because generally anyone with a dime in their pocket will spend everything they have to sue the crap out of anyone publishing reports that link them with child sex offenses.  Even if the story is true it's easier for the media to simply ignore the stuff and publish much more profitable stories about twerking and Tebow.

Probably...
I wasn't talking about trafficking laws, my thought process was about the child and media laws.
