Help installing new convergence rings on K7000
« on: October 19, 2013, 10:27:26 pm »
The  convergence rings on my Wells K7000 were half  broken when I purchased the monitor.  I was lucky enough to find a replacement set on ebay recently.  Any pointers on how to replace my current ones?  I'm thinking I need to mark were on the neck to place the rings. I'm wondering if there are any tips on pulling the board connected to the neck.  Also,  how would I setup the initial ring placement of all 6 rings.

ok before u go ahead with this bold move..i say bold because most electronic techs will tend to shy away from it,what game are u using it in ?,the reason for this q is this..dose it have a service menu ? where u can get to cross hatch ?,color like red, green, blue <pure screen ?,if so u are half way there..if not find a repair shop with a ntsc generater to do it for u,or u will never truly get your putiry right.
now the back board as u call it is the neck board
just pull bacwards slowly u may need to wiggle it to come off..go easy here
very dran easy..make sure there is no power to the cabinet at all
now your purity rings may be held in by a 1/4" style screw clamp,or or spin on clam,
or by hot glue
if the screw just undo it,if the spin on clamp just undo it,if gluded in go slow and easy it will come free
