Hi all,
I just wanted to share my Xbox Powered Racing Cabinet build. I will try to get some decent pictures up and give more detail to anyone who is interested. For now, these are pictures I took with my phone.
This is a custom built X-Box powered sit down racing arcade. It is a converted Rush the Rock arcade.
It is powered by a modded original X-Box with a 320GB Hard Drive running N-Dure and XBMC front-end. The DVD drive still works, so you can use any X-Box game and copy it to the drive for faster loading.
The monitor is bright with great color saturation and is connected to an Ultimarc X-Box AV to Arcade monitor adapter. This connector provides an outstanding picture and I highly recommend their product.
The sound system consists of 4 surround speakers and a subwoofer all powered by a dedicated amp with volume and sub control.
The controls are all Happ arcade buttons wired directly to an X-Box Fanatec Racing Wheel that has been decased and permanently mounted in the arcade. The original arcade pedals have been tied into the controller as well as the steering wheel and force feedback. All controls are heavy duty arcade controls for long life and wear.
The Force-Feedback has been converted to work with the arcade motor for awesome and powerful force feedback effects. There is a dedicated power supply just for the force feedback motor and it is controlled by a heavy duty servo amplifier. I can adjust the force feedback either by using the built in controls of the Fanatec wheel or by adjusting the servo amplifier.
The whole system is controlled by a smart strip power adapter so that when you start the X-Box the whole system powers up.
