Groovylinux Livecd works No Picture after Install. (Tabletop)
« on: October 07, 2013, 12:29:44 am »
Hello Everyone,

I have decided to make another machine but this time for full linux :)

I have a genuine tabletop i am restoring and would like to make it able to play standard and mame :)
Anyhow off track i am using a TV using S-video (and the picture is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!)

My Issue is i am using a RadieonX550 and using the S-video out.
Now the live cd i am Selecting LCD Monitor because its the only mode that looked right and flawless at that!
All the games played perfectly and couldnt ask for anything better.

But after i install it it loads perfectly fine and i get the groovymame starting screen then everything goes black,
I am wondering if its the fact that its decided to use the DVI or VGA port
Or its sending an out of range signal to the monitor? (but normally if you did this it would display something other then black)

Any ideas guys?
Was really hard to find a 14inch Color tube!!!!!(like you have no idea in Australia)

Hi epicfatigue,

During boot, press escape as soon as the GroovyArcade logo shows up, it's possibly corrupting the video driver. Then get into video setup->video grub and disable the splash screen permanently.

I'm assuming you're aware that s-video will kill 'magic' of GroovyMAME regarding video timings, resolutions, etc.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Thanks Calamity i will try that tonight,

No i was not aware of that, but this is more or less as a work around until my game board is repaired :)

I plan on putting a PC crt in there when i find a suitable replacement !
