Help with faulty monitor plz
« on: October 03, 2013, 05:08:17 pm »
Hi guys,
All of a sudden my monitor has done this (attached pic). It is a Hantarex monitor (not sure what model) connected to a JPAC then into an AGP ArcadeVGA.

Does it look obvious to anyone what the issue may be and is it correctable by me or a specialist or is it on its way out?
Certainly would appreciate the advice.

Cheers guys,
Gav.

faulty blue transistor on the neck board. it's shorted causing the blue to come on 100%.

unsolder,remove,replace,solder.

if you look at the neck board, you should be able to figure out which one is blue by either following a trace from a blue adjustment pot (drive / cut off etc) or if you're lucky the neck board will be labeled BK or KB near the socket and you can follow the trace back from the blue cathode  to the transistor.

Thanks for that, very much appreciated. I'll have a look this weekend and see what I can find through the dust! :)
