Sorry it took a bit to reply...lightning had fired my machine.... thankfully had backups, just didnt have time. I tried your suggestions and also went way further down the AI rabbit hole to no avail. I definitely do not want you recompiling your game for my version of nostaligia. I enjoy playing it as it is. If you ever tinker with it in the future to add simulated scanlines or end up playing with reshade for yourself let me know. Until then thanks for all the work you did to bring this to life.
No worries! Glad your machine is still running! I've added a small change to the way I build MGPr anyway. From now on, it'll prioritise DLLs in its local directory before searching elsewhere. So might be worth looking out for the next release to see if that helps.
I should (hopefully) be uploading a new experimental version of MGPr soon. I've never been happy with the car engine sound so I thought I'd go back to Monaco GP's sound board circuit diagram and try to create it the same way as the original hardware did. I've added code that mixes 3 x saw tooth oscillators (Frequencies vary depending on player speed and gear) and I pass these through various effects (noise, low pass cutoff filters, ringing etc..). It needs more tweaking and although it doesn't sound massively like the arcade yet, it does have it moments. Its a more natural car engine sound, and I think it adds something extra to the game. Anyways, I've got a bit of tidying up and tweaking todo, after which I'll upload a demo or maybe an experimental release
